Anyone that has been involved in product development knows things don’t always go as planned. Circuits don’t always perform as simulated on the computer. Circuit simulation programs have evolved to the point that “if you can simulate it, you can build it”. The problem that occurs many times is that the model of the transformer used in simulation doesn’t exactly match all the electrical characteristics of the prototype manufactured. After observing transformer performance in the actual prototype circuit, there may be some changes in the transformer design that will tweak the transformer to the circuit. Additionally, there may need to be some circuit design changes to optimize overall circuit performance.
